Creating more space for parking on Norwood Road – removal of cars on side streets
In order to free up spaces for people to park on the side streets along Norwood Road, Lambeth council have been working to identify abandoned cars. These are vehicles which have no tax or an up to date MOT or both. There have been 2 vehicles identified on Robson Road, and a further 4 on Chatsworth way.
However, this is quite a long process often involving several different agencies such as the police and DVLA. Several of the vehicles are also too big for a standard pick-up vehicle and it is not cost effective for the council or its contractor to own one of these vehicles.
We hope that these will be removed in the next couple of months, when several large vehicles in the area and beyond will be removed over a couple of days, freeing up more space for parking.
