Latest from TfL on the one-way system

At the end of 2017 we held a community meeting with an update from Transport for London (TfL) on the work they are doing to change the one-way system in Tulse Hill, to a two-way one. You can see the blogs on this event here and here.

We learnt during that meeting that there had been a change to the timescale that TfL were working to. As a result of budget cuts they said the scheme would be delayed by a year.

Local councillors led by Anna Birley have been campaigning to reverse this decision. The good news is that funding for the scheme has been re-committed and it is back on track.

StreetWorks has been working alongside local residents of West Norwood and Tulse Hill to change the dangerous one way system for over 5 years. we were concerned to hear at the end of 2017, that there was a possibility that the scheme could be delayed due to a lack of funding from Transport for London (TfL). Thanks, however, to the efforts of Cllrs Birley and Cowell and our GLA member Val Shawcross, we have recently learnt that this is no longer the case and this community-led scheme is back on track. We hope to get another update from TfL on the detailed modelling work they are conducting at the moment in the spring. There will then be another chance for us all to provide input into the designs.
